The Moment When Something Small Shakes You to the Core

For those nights when you feel like giving up
Most of the time, I’m a positive person. Full of faith. Always giving – not because I have to, but because it feels right. I believe in good things. In meaning. In the quiet kind of magic that happens when you put your heart into something and just keep trying. And most of the time, they do. I celebrate the small wins like a child and feel like I’m moving forward, even if it’s slow.
But then there’s that one moment… when everything suddenly feels like it’s falling apart. It’s not something huge. But still, despite your effort, your hope, your best intentions – nothing works. Everything feels like it’s turning against you. The universe goes quiet. And the more you try, the more it all pushes back.
It’s not like I haven’t gone through hard times before. But when the exhaustion, the pressure, and that quiet kind of disappointment all pile up… you start to wonder if it’s worth it.
You still believe in your dream. But there are days when you feel like giving up – even just for a moment. Just to stop fighting. And if someone had asked me how I felt in one of those moments, I think I would’ve simply said: “I have no strength left.”
I believe we all have moments like these. That’s why I wrote this – for anyone standing right at the edge, needing something small to hold on to. Just to remind you: this is only a moment. And sometimes, that reminder is enough.
When everything piles up at once
It’s not always the big things that break us. Sometimes, it’s just a string of small, disappointing moments. Something goes wrong, unexpectedly. Something you poured your time, heart, and hope into… turns out useless. Or unseen. Or simply not working.
You gather your strength. Try to fix it. Tell yourself it’ll pass – just like always. But before you can even take a breath, a new obstacle shows up. And then another. And another.
Things start piling up – like a snowball rolling down a steep hill, growing bigger and heavier with every turn. The problem you thought would take a few minutes to solve… becomes hours of lost time and even more drained energy. That feeling of everything slipping out of your hands becomes more real. And you – less and less steady.
By the end of the day, it’s not just tiredness. It’s exhaustion – mental and emotional.
You can’t think clearly. You can’t feel joy in anything. You’re carrying not just the weight of the day, but of all the expectations that didn’t come true. You sit there, staring ahead, not even sure what exactly broke you. Which drop was too much? But you know you’re there, at that point where everything just feels like too much. And you wonder: is it even worth continuing?
When you feel like giving up
Night falls – and with it, the silence that makes everything feel louder. On the outside, nothing’s really happening. But inside, it’s a whole storm. You lie in bed, but instead of resting, your thoughts won’t let you go. They keep spinning. Rewinding the day. Pointing fingers. Analyzing. Scaring. How can everything you built feel so shaky, so fast? How can a few disappointments feel so heavy?
In moments like these, the doubt comes in – not just about your path, but about yourself.
Is this the right road? Is it a real goal – or just some illusion you’ve been chasing? Wouldn’t it be easier to stop – to admit that maybe what you want just isn’t meant for you?
And no matter how much you try to stay rational, the emotion wins. The pain of not succeeding. The heartbreak of giving so much for nothing. The fear of starting over again.
It all becomes one heavy thing inside you. You feel the tears rolling down – but you don’t wipe them away, because you know they heal.
And then, from somewhere deep inside you, something stirs. A voice. Soft, but still alive. It whispers quietly:
“This is just one day.
Just one moment.
Yes, it’s one of the hard ones -but you’ll get through it.
Tomorrow will be different.”
And you begin to calm down. You choose to listen to that quiet, stubborn voice inside you. Not because everything is suddenly okay, but because in that moment, you choose to believe it will be. You fall asleep slowly, with a small spark in your heart – the one that gently reminds you the sun will rise again. Tomorrow will bring a new chance. A new possibility. A new hope.
This is just one moment. Not your whole path.
Sometimes all you need is one thing – not a solution, not an action, just a quiet reminder.
That this moment, no matter how much it hurts, isn’t everything. It’s not the full picture. It’s not who you are.
We tend to measure ourselves by our weakest days. To define who we are by our tiredness, our failures, our doubts. But what you went through today is just one of a thousand pieces. A piece that won’t stop you, as long as you can see it as a part of the story, not the whole one.
That’s exactly why I wrote these words. Because I know we all have moments like these. And sadly, it’s in those very moments that there’s often no one sitting next to us, saying what we most need to hear.
With these words, I want to sit beside you – quietly, humanely, and reach out my hand. To hold you gently and whisper: “You’ll get through this.” To tell you that this feeling of hopelessness will pass. That you’ve been here before… and you kept going. And you will again.
And in those very moments, when you feel like giving up, I want these words to remind you: you’re not alone. You’re not weak just because it’s heavy – it feels that way because you care. You give, you dream, and you’re reaching toward something that means everything to you. And that is strength – even when it feels like weakness. So please… don’t give up. Keep going, even through the hard days. There’s still a way. Still light. Still hope.
If my words brought you even a little peace, keep them close.
And if you know someone who’s in a hard moment too, share them.
Sometimes, that’s all it takes to keep going 🤍

P.P. If these words brought you something soft and needed…
